Simple "Liter" Burgers with Veggies

These lite grilled burgers are made with seasoned, lean ground beef, then topped with grilled veggies and pepper jack cheese.
 

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce, divided
  • Cajun seasoning, to taste
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 4 ozs fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Wheat burger buns
  • 4 slices 2% milk pepper jack cheese

Method

Combine beef, eggs, Worcestershire, salt, pepper and Cajun seasoning to taste. Mix into 4 burgers. Combine onion, mushrooms, garlic and 1 T of Worcestershire in aluminum foil pack. Grill burgers and onions on barbecue until burgers are slightly pink on the inside. Remove from grill and place 1 slice of cheese over each burger. Meanwhile, grill buns on barbecue before filling with cheese covered burgers. Serve with veggie mixture, mustard and ketchup.
