Curry Turkey Burgers with Apple Chutney

These burgers are a healthier choice and they have a delicious sauce that is sweet to match the savory.
Ingredients
- For Chutney:
- 2 ounces light brown sugar
- 1 ounce onion, finely diced
- 2 ounces dried cherries, chopped
- 1/2 ounce walnuts, chopped
- 2 ounces cider vinegar
- Dash lemon juice
- Dash ginger, grated
- 1 whole jalapeno
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 2 teaspoons garlic
- Dash mace
- Dash nutmeg
- For Burgers:
- 1 1/2 pounds ground turkey
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon curry powder
- 2 teaspoons hot sauce
- Hamburger buns, mixed grain
- Olive oil, for cooking

Method
For Chutney: Add all ingredients, except apples or cherries, in a sauce pot and bring to simmer. Add apples and cherries and simmer until cooked down. Cool chutney and store in air tight container until ready for use. For Burgers: Mix all ingredients in a bowl except olive oil and make six patties. Brush preheated grill or pan with olive oil. Cook patties 5-7 minutes on each side to ensure doneness. Add to hamburger buns and serve with your favorite condiments and chutney.
