A BBQ sauce, flavored with chili powder, dry mustard, & worcestershire, is combined with well-seasoned ground beef, formed into burgers & grilled.
Make BBQ sauce first: In saucepan heat olive oil. Add onions and garlic and saute about 5 minutes. Then add ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, dry mustard, vinegar, brown sugar and chili powder. Stir well and simmer on low for 6 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
In a large bowl combine the ground chuck, salt, peppers, BBQ seasoning, onions and parsley. Add 1/4 cup of the prepared BBQ sauce to the meat mixture and combine well. Shape into patties about 3/4" thick. Preheat grill or grill pan to med-high heat. Brush grill with some oil. Add burgers and cook about 8 minutes on each side (internal temp 160 degrees.) Baste the burgers with some of the bbq sauce on both sides. Add a slice of cheese to each patty the last minute of cooking. Spread butter on each bun half and grill about 30 seconds, cut side down. To assemble burger, place lettuce on bottom half of bun, then the slice of onion, burger patty and top with coleslaw.
