Beer Fried Asparagus

Try serving some asparagus spears that have been fried in a light batter made with beer at your next meal.
Ingredients
- 1 Egg
- 1 Egg White
- 1 & 1/2 Cups (12 Oz.) Beer
- 1 & 3/4 Cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1 tsp. Baking Powder
- 4 Cups Vegetable Oil (for deep frying)
- 16 Asparagus Spears (trimmed & cut into 4 in. lengths)
- Salt, White Pepper & Cayenne Pepper to taste

Method
In a medium bowl mix egg & egg white, beer, flour & baking powder. Heat oil to 325 degrees F. in a deep fryer. Dip asparagus in the beer batter and fry in the oil until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spatula and drain on paper towels. Season to taste with salt, white pepper & cayenne pepper.
