Beer Can Chicken

Cooking on the grill has never been more fun. To make Beer Can Chicken, you insert an open can of beer into the bottom of a whole chicken before grilling. This unique cooking method is popular because while the Beer Can Chicken  roasts on the grill, the mixture of liquid and seasoning in the can turns to steam and penetrates the meat, adding both flavor and moisture.

There are lots of different ways to season Beer Can Chicken. Smoked Beer in the Rear Chicken uses a purchased barbecue rub, while Beer Can Chicken uses a combination of purchased Creole and Greek rubs. You can also use something as simple as salt and pepper.

Most beer can chicken recipes call for added ingredients and flavorings in the can of beer to flavor the steam that penetrates the chicken. Beer Butt Chicken calls for onions and garlic in the can of beer, while 20 Spice Heine Chicken calls for red wine, lemon, and fresh herbs.
